At a sold-out event on Thursday, December 5, JCCNNJ community members learned to cook latkes with recipes from Syria, Italy and India, providing tastes of Jewish traditions from around the world. The recipes, authored by Chef Jennifer Abadi, represented the Sephardic traditions that Chef Abadi works at preserving and sharing with today’s Jewish communities.
Participants created their assigned recipes at their cooking stations, fried up their latkes then sat down to taste their creations while listening to Chef Abadi’s stories.
The event, held at Ridgewood Culinary Studio, is just one of many ways we, at JCCNNJ, are creating special moments of Jewish engagement.
