Glen Rock – In a room packed full with young kids and their parents, JCCNNJ co-hosted “Arts & Eats: Hanukkah at the Library” at the Glen Rock Public Library on Sunday, December 8. This third annual event is run entirely by volunteers with generous sponsorships from local businesses and the Friends of the Glen Rock Public Library.
This year’s event featured craft stations from Camp Veritans Day Camp (a local Jewish day camp serving the Glen Rock, Ridgewood and Fair Lawn areas), a “decorate a donut” station run by parent volunteers from the grassroots group Jewish Families of Glen Rock, raffle prizes from The Curious Reader, Kosher Nosh, Zadie’s Bakery and PJ Library, a JCCNNJ program with support from Jewish Federation of Northern NJ. Additional food and drink were donated by Merve’s Kitchen & Bakery and gelt favors from Rock Road Jewelry.
Teen volunteers from Glen Rock Jewish Center’s Teen R.O.C.K. program as well as from the Jewish Student Union, an NCSY program, from Glen Rock High School, were on hand to welcome families, help kids with crafts and even clean up the room after the event!
