COVID-19 Update: Active Seniors Temporarily Suspended Until April 17

|
Active Seniors Program temporarily suspended…

As we have previously communicated, we have been closely monitoring COVID-19 (“coronavirus”) recommendations from the Bergen County Department of Health and the Center for Disease Control.

Effective today, March 13, we have decided to temporarily suspend the Active Seniors program and lunch service through at least April 17, 2020. All programming is currently suspended, included the Senior Seder. After that date, we will re-evaluate the status of the program, based on information from the Health Department and the CDC.

We do not make this decision lightly. It is out of an abundance of caution for our most vulnerable population that we are choosing to protect everyone’s health.

Going forward…

Recognizing that some of our older adults do not have family nearby to help ensure they have adequate nutrition, we are partnering with Jewish Family & Children’s Services of Northern NJ to provide meals to those who need them.

We will continue to remain vigilant and prioritize our community’s health. If you or someone you know needs additional support during these challenging times, please contact Jewish Family & Children’s Services at 201-837-9090 or Ruth Beckman, Supervisor of JCCNNJ’s Active Senior program at 201-666-6610 ext. 2.

If you have any questions about the COVID-19, please visit the CDC’s website.
