Jewish Superstitions: Lecture & Lunch

Join us for a fascinating lecture followed by lunch and hear about Jewish superstitions from Miriam Kraemer Gray. Learn all about our connections to superstitions. Did we adapt some ideas from the diaspora communities in which we lived?  Were they inherent in our legends?  What does Talmudic law say about superstitions? See you in September—-Keinehora! Stay after the lecture to enjoy lunch as a group.


In person: $5 tickets include hot kosher catered lunch

On Zoom: Free to attend (but, sadly, we don’t get to see you for lunch!)

About the Lecturer

Miriam Kraemer Gray has been involved in Jewish education for over 50 years.  A graduate of Montclair State College with a degree in Speech therapy and theatre, Miriam concurrently attended the college of Jewish Studies at the Jewish Theological Seminary toward a Bachelor of Hebrew Letters degree. She taught at the Fair Lawn Jewish Center before receiving a Master of Arts degree in Jewish Education as well as a principal’s certification from the Jewish Theological Seminary.  She was the educational director of the Jewish Community Center of Paramus.  Following 12 years in Paramus, she was appointed the educational director of Temple Emanuel of Pascack Valley.  Miriam has taught adult education courses at Temple Emanuel and currently is teaching an adult course at Temple Sinai in Tenafly.  She has also lectured at the YCC of Washington Township as well as at Women’s League Regional meetings, Hadassah education day programs and at Temple Emanuel of the Pascack Valley. Miriam also gave lectures on behalf of the Jewish Historical Society of North Jersey to promote awareness of this important resource.  She has presented at teacher training workshops throughout New Jersey as well as at national educational conferences. Miriam has been a volunteer for Bergen Reads tutoring program for Hackensack public schools and a volunteer at the Jewish Historical Society of North Jersey. Proud grandma of 4 exceptional grandkids.
