MusicTalks: The Story of Israel Through Song

Northern NJ community…road trip! Let’s hop in our cars and join our friends at JCC MidWestchester for an outdoor drive-in musical concert to celebrate the story of Israel.

Led by Israeli Cellist Elad Kabilio, Founder and Artistic Director of MusicTalks, our audience will enjoy over a dozen songs performed by a collection of musical artists. This unique program offers an intimate look at the history of Israeli song and its most inspiring cultural figures. Starting with Naomi Shemer, who reveled in the beauty and wonder of the young land and the foundation of our nation, through the era of the popular army bands, aiding the nation through its hardships, and the rise of “Mizrahi” music with icons such as Zohar Argov. From entertaining phenomena such as the Eurovision Song Contest and leading up to the current trends of world music, blending the diverse cultures that make up the Israeli nation, best known through young musical innovators such as Idan Reichel.

MusicTalks aims to break down the barriers between musicians and audiences by infusing engaging and interactive conversation into the concert experience. Audiences will form new connections to the music and have an experience that truly makes the music “talk”.

Tickets are just $10 per car and include a complimentary welcome bag.

Space is limited. Register early before this program sells out. Rain date May 16.
